"I had a feeling that little amendment I wrote might come in handy. ;-)
"During the 86th legislative session, legislators passed SB 22, which prohibits transactions between a governmental entity and an abortion provider or affiliate of the provider.
The bill contained an amendment, authored by Rep. Jonathan Stickland (R-Bedford), that says the state will not “restrict a municipality or county from prohibiting abortion,” including cities like Waskom."

"I’m with the city of Waskom, Texas! This town passed an ordinance banning abortion in their city limits and declaring that they are a “Sanctuary City for the Unborn.” Their ordinance goes farther to state that "The Supreme Court erred in Roe v. Wade when it said that pregnant women have a constitutional right to abort their pre-born children." The head of Right to Life of East Texas said that rather than becoming a destination for abortion, they want to focus on doing what the Bible says in Amos 5:15, “Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate.” I applaud their goal and their boldness. Abortion is taking millions of lives every year and this needs to be changed. I hope that more cities will take the same stand to defend life."

"Last session my (wonderful) staff came up with an idea to offer an amendment to an obscure bill. It reaffirmed that cities could ban abortion, something none of them had ever tried. My colleagues had no idea what we were doing at the time. I love seeing that little spark turn into a wildfire across Texas. #prolife #onward"
